Open Enrollment for your 2025 benefits begins on October 15, 2024 and ends on November 8, 2024!
The most common question we hear this time of year is, "If I want to keep everything the same, do I have to do anything?" The short answer is: YES!
Did you know that our comprehensive benefits offering adds tremendous value to your total compensation? For every CCSD employee, it adds close to 50% or more to your pay. So, here are the 6 important decisions everyone needs to make during Open Enrollment each year - along with the resources we've created to assist you in making each decision. You can also watch a video about the 6 decisions HERE.

Choosing the health plan that fits you best depends heavily on how much you expect to use it throughout the coming year. How has your current plan worked for you this year? Do you expect significant medical expenses in the year to come? While it's easy to just keep what you have, that may not be the best course.
FSAs enable you to pay for out-of-pocket health, dental and vision costs with before tax dollars. That's like getting everything at a 30% discount! We encourage everyone with those expenses to use an FSA, yet only 1 in 5 employees do. When you continue to enroll in the FSA, you can roll over up to $600 of your left over funds into the next year.
Keeping the short-term disability (STD) plan you have today may cost you more than necessary! Have you accumulated more sick leave days? If so, and if you are currently in the STD plan, select a later "wait period" as you enroll this year. It works the other way too - if you've used a lot of sick leave, consider selecting a shorter wait period.
Did you know that CCSD offers a service that matches individual financial situations with the 70+ Federal DOE programs available to reduce student loan payments and balances? While we can’t guarantee everyone will see results, it’s free to find out what you could save!
Make sure your retirement savings are in the right bucket! If you're already enrolled in the CCSD Retirement Savings Plan, take a moment to confirm your investments align with your personal goals. Not yet enrolled? Contact an advisor today to get started. PSERS participants, don't miss out on your dollar-for-dollar match up to 6% of your pay.
Each year, it's important to review and update the beneficiary information for your life insurance policy. Additionally, we recommend ensuring that your coverage amount still meets your family's needs in case of any unforeseen events. If you need to increase your coverage, please be aware that you'll need to answer a few online questions.
